An Ode To Nature

An Ode To Nature  Nature is the one thing that will always be there No matter who or what leaves you The water of the river will always flow  And no matter where you go  The snow will always snow Unless you are somewhere where it is to hot  Then you just have to remember that it is snowing somewhere And no matter if everyone hates you Plants don’t have feelings  So they can not hate you  Therefore, you will always have a place in nature For nature will always love you No matter what you dov An ode to those who will always love you An ode to things that have no choice but to love you  An ode to nature

Orchid

It is just another peaceful day during the beginning of Spring for the town of Huckleberry. Marci Flynn, a thirteen year old ray of sunlight, is walking down the street with her pet Baxter, a french bulldog. He is panting against the new found sun, but no one could blame him.  A whistling grandpa aged man walks by them, offering a tip of his hat. It was a friendly town, everyone always saying hi, everyone just about knowing everyone else.  “How do you do?” he asked.  “Just fine, and you?” Marci replied.  “Dandy, thanks for asking,”. They went on their way, minding their own business until Baxter started to bark. It was different, most of the time when he did it was for food, or perhaps his toy. But this time it was frantic. Scared, one could say. “Baxter! Please, quiet down, please!!” She begged. Marci was starting to get looks from the others whos quiet stroll or peaceful shopping trip was interrupted. Baxter kept barking. Panting. Pacing.  T...

Unwritten Rules (A poem)

On a quiet night  The corn stalks will shiver And even if you aren't there to witness it- The bare facts remain We shall never be the same A poem is not what the writer wants it to be It's how the reader interrupts it;  So even if you don't consider this to be one, Or the one above, It is neither here nor there.  I know how I like it.  It is only yours to roam.  Such as how the explorers ravaged  The land of the natives  When the first arrived.  They either liked it;  Or needed to have control over it.  So take these ideas,  These miss matched words And make another world. One that's yours-  One untold and only for you That is of course unless you choose to share it- Like I have with you.

8 Tips and Tricks for Seaworld Orlando

This week on Monday I got the chance to experience Seaworld Orlando for the first time, and it was awesome. However, I did learn several things, so I shall share them with you so your trip is not as crazy (in a bad way) as ours! Number One:  If you are going in the summer, and have two day or stay long tickets (which we did) I would suggest going to the Summer Nighttime Event, Electic Ocean, the night before your all day trip. The reason why is because you can get a little bit of understanding of the park before you have to hit the ground running the first day, and after a long day in the heat, you will not want to stay to see the fireworks (which are awesome) at 9:30. Trust me, this is what we did, and it totally took a lot of stress off our trip. Number Two: Seaworld, unlike some other parks, allows water bottles (one per person), snack-sized items (unless you have a dietary need, then you can bring what you need), and coolers under a certain inch limit. However, they do ask ...

MCMXIV

I saw this poem and thought it was cool! 😀 (anyways...) By Philp Larkin Those long uneven lines Standing as patiently As if they were stretched outside The Oval or Villa Park, The crowns of hats, the sun On moustached  archaic  faces Grinning as if it were all An August Bank Holiday lark; And the shut shops, the  bleached Established names on the sunblinds, The farthings and sovereigns, And dark-clothed children at play Called after kings and queens, The tin advertisements For cocoa and twist, and the pubs Wide open all day; And the countryside not caring: The place-names all hazed over With flowering grasses, and fields Shadowing Domesday lines Under wheat’s restless silence; The differently-dressed servants With tiny rooms in huge houses, The dust behind limousines; Never such innocence, Never before or since, As changed itself to past Without a word – the men Leaving the gardens tidy, The thousands of marriages, Lasting a littl...

Evermore

Sitting in the back of class An outcast I reminisce about the days untold Truths and lies all in a fold For sitting here Playing with a strand of hair I realize that it's all there The good The bad The honestly sad The past two years have been a bless I wouldn't trade them for anything But now its time to say goodbye And end everything But no- That's not true- I'll still be there cheering for you Through the concerts Through the door I'll be there.. Evermore

Good Things Weren't Meant To Last | A Poem For Those Affected By The Notre Dame Cathedral

How can life be so peaceful How can it be so bland When in another world It is crumbling in their hands Something that could have been stopped And even though we tried That was work of another life. Work that can't Even if one sets their heart on it Ever be remade Or replaced It held moments And memories Achievements And times of grief But good things were never meant to last And sometimes You have to accept that Even if it breaks your heart For good things aren't meant to last You have to put it in the past Regrow, relearn Don't take it for granted Even if you may Please Learn something new And use it another day For those of you affected by the Notre Dame Cathedral catching fire today, know that you are in our prayers. Don't give up hope.. and always look for the sliver-lining. Maybe its the fact that some of the precious art was saved, or that it isn't burnt to the ground. Keep your head up, even though there will be a gap in you...

Moon Shifts

When the moon shifts The people will stare And wonder in spite About what is out there Is it good? Is it bad? Is it something terribly sad? Shall we perish? And if we do... Will we go out there, to join the moon?

Poem Of A Tide

My feet hit the sand as I realize I'm home Back to the place where I can run free Back to where I can be me Frolick in the sun Splash in the waves And spend all day without a care Gradually getting a bad case of beach hair But I'm without a care Here by the tide

Blue Ridge Junction - New For Carowinds 2019 Season

Image
Image Credit to Isabella Showalter On Thursday I had the chance to attend the media preview for the newest addition to the Cedar Fair park known as Carowinds. This year the park brought back a classic area from when the park opened, Blue Ridge Junction, along with some new adventures. These include the Mountain Gliders, a panning for gold activity, Blue Ridge Country Kitchen dining experience, and the return of Blue (Originally Smurf) Icecream. And we can't forget the double launch coaster known as Copperhead Strike (shown above).  Let's break it down, shall we? Here I am walking down the red carpet (what!?!)  It was awesome Copperhead Strike              As previously mentioned, Copperhead Strike is a double launch coaster, and it happens to be the first and only in North and South Carolina. The first one [launch] goes from 0-42 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds, and the second 35-50 in 2 seconds. With five inversions ...

National Nap Day?

Since it is the return of daylight savings time, most people are very tired. We did lose an hour of sleep, after all! With this comes grump people, upset children, and everyone else who is yawning and falling asleep in class. How to fix this? I mean, it's not like not doing Daylight Savings Time would keep everyone going okay..? (It is very important, though) Bring in National Nap Day! Some people make napping a part of their everyday routine. However, the rest of us only nap if we are sick, maybe. But today I encourage each and every one of you to lay down, snuggle up, and take a nap!

Rain

There's a way the world feels after it rains The way the air smells, and the way it looks The pavement seems to glow As though even the worst things could look better Even if it pours, the unmistakable mark of puddles and the little ones jumping in them Is something not to be taken for granted People busy, going places, forced to slow down Perhaps this is bad, but think of it again Think about how the busy, rushing people Are forced to slow down and supposedly Smell the roses Would they of done this otherwise? No. Is it good that they did? Yes. For they were ripped out of their world of work And planted into the one of childlike imagination again So when it rains, fear not Do not be gloomy Think of all the things that are going right out there All the people, splashing in puddles And perhaps, instead of feeling down and blue Grab a coat, grab your gear And go ahead And get on out of here!

Clock

When looking at a clock, the seconds seem to take forever to go. So slow. The hour hand the worst, the minute a little better. However, without the second, it would be hard to tell if time was moving at all. However, the second hand takes quite the hike. Down the steep hill, into a ravine, only to get stuck and have to climb out again. The trip down is quick, easy, but getting back up is hard. The closer to the top, the slower it goes. To the point of almost not moving at all. Time stands still. And the weight of it is on the little ones' shoulder. It summons its strength and pushes until on top. We all cheer, for a new minute, is here. Up on the top, of the clock.

Diabetes Acrostic Poem #ThisIsTypeOne

Daily nagging, daily worry, daily doses done by Injection. The only way to manage it. And even though you have a whole community behind you, it is overwhelming as the only way to Beat it is a pancreas transplant. However, you know that sometimes Even the best fall down sometimes. But, its okay, because in Time you will be able to manage it, and live your new normal, everyday life. You are Exceptional for having the courage to go through this. You are Strong, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

How can you help? Number 1 (quick and easy!!)

As you know, the holiday season is coming up, but not everyone has the chance to experience it. As a matter of fact, there are some kids in the hospital where this might be there last Christmas. To make it best as possible, Make A Wish and Macy's have partnered up. When you go to macys.com/believe (I will leave a link below) and write a letter or email to Santa, Macy's will donate a dollar to the Make A Wish foundation up to a million dollars.
