Saved By The Dog

Saved By The Dog Darn. For the second time that day, Alice’s crayon had broke. It was the final day before the competition was over, and she didn’t have her project finished. Betty, her best friend and neighbor, had finished hers already. It was a horse standing in the backdrop of the red mountains. “I wonder what I could do?” thought Alice. She was sitting underneath a cactus. Her dog ran out to her with something in its mouth. Reaching out, the dog dropped it in her hand. A paintbrush. Then an idea came to her. She had been working so hard on crayon art, why not do something she was really good at? Running inside, she grabbed her paints and went back outside. Setting up her easel, she wondered what to paint. She looked to the cactus she was just sitting by. Her dog was there, with a flower stuck on her head. She was running in circles, then layed down. Alice started to paint.        -The Next Day- Alice’s painting was set up next to thirty others, all from her school. Ever

The Wishing Place

The Wishing Place  Ahh. You take a deep breath, and look around. The room, unlike any other that you have ever been in, smells of tropical flowers. Trees grow around every side and sport every fruit- even ones that grow on bushes. The ceiling, if there is one, is sky blue, sunlight streams in and illuminates everything. In the middle of the room there is a crystal clear lake that shimmers. Fish swim around in it, and the is a beach with white sand bordering it. Along one wall is a waterfall, spraying a mist on all the people who near it. There is the beginning  of a mountain in one of the corners, and even though you can see it to the top, you can only climb about half way up. Birds fly around, and monkeys swing from branch to branch. It is the most amazing place in the world. “Hello? Are you still with us?”. The calls of the librarian snap you back into attention. The wonderful world slowly disappears and is replaced with fluorescent lighting and the bland tab

High Five

High Five Okay. Okay. You can do this, I think as I stand atop the wobbling board. It was only two feet higher than my original board, why was it so hard? This one was seven feet above the water. Oh why did I climb up here? I briefly considered climbing back down, but the lifeguard put the bar down so nobody could climb up while I was still on there. But, that also means there was only one way down. I’m shaking and forget what my instructors taught me. Dive like an airplane? No. Cannon ball? No. Wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care? Definitely not. I take a nervous breath when it come to me. In my favorite movie series, Pirates of the Bahamas, if they have to walk off the plank they confidently bounce off the end of the board, leep mid-air, and put their arms above their head and dive. The movies are the reason I started taking diving classes. I took a deep breath, arched my arm and before I knew it

Why I started My Blog

Why I Started My Blog Before I started writing my stories and ideas down, they would just flow out of my brain. I was excited because in the Junior High, they have a newspaper program. Or should I say had. When I learned that the program was gone I was extremely disappointed. My mom suggested that I start my own blog. She has her own, and I have asked to write stuff for it before. When she said I could start my own I was ecstatic. Now I have this blog and can write all of my stories and ideas, then share them, which I love to do!
