Blue Ridge Junction - New For Carowinds 2019 Season

Image
Image Credit to Isabella Showalter On Thursday I had the chance to attend the media preview for the newest addition to the Cedar Fair park known as Carowinds. This year the park brought back a classic area from when the park opened, Blue Ridge Junction, along with some new adventures. These include the Mountain Gliders, a panning for gold activity, Blue Ridge Country Kitchen dining experience, and the return of Blue (Originally Smurf) Icecream. And we can't forget the double launch coaster known as Copperhead Strike (shown above).  Let's break it down, shall we? Here I am walking down the red carpet (what!?!)  It was awesome Copperhead Strike              As previously mentioned, Copperhead Strike is a double launch coaster, and it happens to be the first and only in North and South Carolina. The first one [launch] goes from 0-42 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds, and the second 35-50 in 2 seconds. With five inversions and a duration of two minutes 24 sec

National Nap Day?

Since it is the return of daylight savings time, most people are very tired. We did lose an hour of sleep, after all! With this comes grump people, upset children, and everyone else who is yawning and falling asleep in class. How to fix this? I mean, it's not like not doing Daylight Savings Time would keep everyone going okay..? (It is very important, though) Bring in National Nap Day! Some people make napping a part of their everyday routine. However, the rest of us only nap if we are sick, maybe. But today I encourage each and every one of you to lay down, snuggle up, and take a nap!

Rain

There's a way the world feels after it rains The way the air smells, and the way it looks The pavement seems to glow As though even the worst things could look better Even if it pours, the unmistakable mark of puddles and the little ones jumping in them Is something not to be taken for granted People busy, going places, forced to slow down Perhaps this is bad, but think of it again Think about how the busy, rushing people Are forced to slow down and supposedly Smell the roses Would they of done this otherwise? No. Is it good that they did? Yes. For they were ripped out of their world of work And planted into the one of childlike imagination again So when it rains, fear not Do not be gloomy Think of all the things that are going right out there All the people, splashing in puddles And perhaps, instead of feeling down and blue Grab a coat, grab your gear And go ahead And get on out of here!
