8 Tips and Tricks for Seaworld Orlando

This week on Monday I got the chance to experience Seaworld Orlando for the first time, and it was awesome. However, I did learn several things, so I shall share them with you so your trip is not as crazy (in a bad way) as ours!

Number One:  If you are going in the summer, and have two day or stay long tickets (which we did) I would suggest going to the Summer Nighttime Event, Electic Ocean, the night before your all day trip. The reason why is because you can get a little bit of understanding of the park before you have to hit the ground running the first day, and after a long day in the heat, you will not want to stay to see the fireworks (which are awesome) at 9:30. Trust me, this is what we did, and it totally took a lot of stress off our trip.

Number Two: Seaworld, unlike some other parks, allows water bottles (one per person), snack-sized items (unless you have a dietary need, then you can bring what you need), and coolers under a certain inch limit. However, they do ask that you do not bring in glass (brands like Soma, HAY, Pottery Barn offer these, so do a double check before heading out) or plastic straws, which leads us to number three...

Number Three: Since it is Seaworld, plastic straws are not offered. When these are used, it can lead to the water system and eventually get into the ocean. Not only is it not pleasant to look at, but the inhabitants of the ocean can mistake it for food, which if there is enough consumed, lead to illness and death.

Number Four: Another thing about Seaworld is they don't use plastic bags (for the same reasons as above). However, they will provide you with a paper bag, or you can upgrade it to a reusable bag that comes in cute patterns, and of varying sizes. I personally got a canvas navy blue bag that has the words "Seaworld Rescue" on it.

Number Five: Whenever you buy anything, the cashier will ask if you would like to round up to the whole dollar to support their animal conservation program. It caught me off guard the first time, but I said yes. It is nothing personal, they are just trying to raise money to help rescue more sea animals.

Number Six: There is a new area dedicated to Sesame Street! While it is super neat, and the parade is a must see if you have littles, there is one thing that stuck out to me. There is no shade. Like, at all. If you are planning on spending time in the land (which I recommend), bring hats, plenty of sunblock, spray bottles with the little fan and water... whatever it takes to keep you cool. There is a splash pad in the middle (heads up) which is a good way to cool off, but you might not want to get wet.

Number Seven: There is a lot of walking. I know that it is expected, but there was one point where we were in the middle of the park and it was eleven minutes of walking to the attraction that we were headed to. My sister is four, and even though she is an independent and active kid, she still sat in the stroller in between rides and aquariums.

Number Eight: Another way to keep cool is the aquariums. They are located mainly by the exits of the rides, and while you don't have to hit all of them, there are a few that we really enjoyed such as the Shark Encounter (by Mako), and the whales/sea lions at the end of Wild Arctic.
